Restoration laboratory

By permission of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of FVG archaeological finds collected during the 2001-2012 excavations are kept within the premises of the Institute allowing their inventory, study and publication.

In 2008, thanks to the financial support of Wissenschafltiche Gesellschaft Freiburg (Germany), the Institute has based its field restoration laboratory at its headquarters in Stremiz of Faedis.

The restoration laboratory is responsible to document, preserve and secure the archaeological finds which include ceramics, stone, glass, zoological materials, metals and metal alloys.
